Energizer battery sizes: choose the correct replacement
Read the existing battery code or the equipment instructions before ordering. Batteries that look similar can have different dimensions, voltage or chemistry.

*Examples depend on the equipment model. For alarms, medical devices and safety equipment, follow the manufacturer’s specified battery type and replacement schedule. Coin-cell codes are not interchangeable simply because their diameter looks similar.
Buying rechargeables? Rechargeable AA and AAA NiMH cells are normally rated at 1.2V, while alkaline AA and AAA are 1.5V. Check device compatibility. Shop rechargeable AA, rechargeable AAA and compatible battery chargers.

Get more value from your battery supplies
Compare running cost, not just pack price
Record how long a battery set lasts in your actual equipment and how often staff replace it. Longer runtime can reduce the number of changes and used batteries for the same task. Results vary, so a small trial is useful before standardising across a site.
Store well and recycle used batteries
Keep batteries in their packaging in a cool, dry place, rotate stock and check expiry dates. Use an appropriate battery collection or recycling service for spent cells. Keep new and used coin and button batteries securely away from children.
Energizer battery questions
What is the difference between MAX and MAX Plus?
Both are alkaline ranges. MAX provides everyday power, while Energizer positions MAX Plus AA and AAA as its longest-lasting alkaline batteries. Select the correct size and compare performance in your equipment.
Which Energizer battery pack size should I choose?
Choose quantities around your device count, usage and storage dates. MAX Plus AA and AAA are linked in 4, 8, 20 and 50 packs. A smaller pack may suit occasional replacements, while 20 or 50 packs can support regular replenishment. Other ranges and category links provide more choices.
Are Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries rechargeable?
No. Ultimate Lithium batteries are single-use. For rechargeable power, choose batteries clearly labelled rechargeable and a charger suitable for their chemistry and size.
Can I replace alkaline AA batteries with rechargeable AA?
Only where the device manufacturer permits it. NiMH AA cells are normally 1.2V and alkaline AA cells 1.5V. The physical size alone does not confirm suitability.
Are CR2032, CR2025 and CR2016 interchangeable?
They have different thicknesses and capacities. Use the code specified for your device rather than choosing a coin cell by appearance. LR44 is a different button-cell format and chemistry.
Can I mix old and new batteries?
No. Replace a set together using the type recommended for the device. Avoid mixing different battery types or chemistries, and never attempt to recharge a single-use battery.
